Small drawings are the lifeblood of my art practice. My studio is equipped with a comfy chair, a half-dozen boxes of pens, ink well, and a colossal stack of hand-torn cotton rag paper. I make hundreds of these little drawings, and they’ve been essential to keeping my mind limber. They push me, I push them back. Together we go mining in my imagination- the weird subconscious stuff, the taboo and the forbidden. We give it shape and drag it into the sun.
